This 7 day trip gives the visitor a glimpse into the historical Soviet Russian era. Important places from this period that are visited include Moscow and St. Petersburg, with a special outing to the home of Lenin.

Day 1

You can fly to St. Petersburg via any convenient airline for you. A driver with a sign will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel is possible only after 14:00. If you arrive in St. Petersburg with an early flight, then an earlier check-in can be booked for you for an additional fee.

Day 2

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 St. Petersburg sightseeing tour. St. Petersburg was the pre-eminent city before the revolution that saw the Russian Empire take control of the city. The city marks the start of the Soviet Union. As the more significant temples and cathedrals were discovered, these hallmarks were preserved during the Soviet period, and remain open to sight-seeing.

13:00 Visit to the Legendary Soviet Pyshechnaya. Donuts are one of the symbols of St. Petersburg. But here they have been given their own special name. In your visit to the legendary cafe, a taste of Pyshki is a must. This donut is worth facing the queues that one sometimes faces in the tourist season. A donut is just $0.20.

14:00 Excursion to the Hermitage. The Hermitage is one of the largest museums in the world. It houses a collection of over 3 million works of art.

16:00 Return to the hotel. Free time.

Day 3

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out

10:00 Excursion along the Neva embankment with a visit to the Cruiser Aurora. As you amble next to the most strategic river in St. Petersburg, there are scenic views to admire. Part of the trip offers a viewing of the legendary Aurora armored cruiser, made infamous when it fired at the Winter Palace on the 25th of October in 1917.

14:00 End of the day’s program.

23:55 Departure of the train “Red Arrow to Moscow”. Rated number 1, the Red Arrow train is a legend out of the Soviet Union days. It was the first train ever branded during the Soviet era. The Red Arrow’s comfort and its convenient timetable set it apart from the rest. It is often the first choice of Russian celebrities. The coaches offer accommodation in four bedded compartments, and include breakfast in their rates.

Day 4

7:55 Arrival in Moscow. A driver with a sign will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel.

9:00 Moscow sightseeing tour. Not just Moscow, but Soviet Moscow is the focus of this trip. The life of ordinary people who lived in the city during the Soviet era is shared with visitors. The trip covers the Red Square, the Kremlin, the Main Department Store, and the KGB building. Now considered trademarks of the city, the main temple and the cathedrals that managed to survive the Soviet period are also on display.

12:00 Excursion to the Kremlin. The guide will tell you about the history of the Kremlin, and then you will have free time to explore the cathedrals on your own.

13:30 Lunch. Varenichnaya #1 – in the style of a typical Russian apartment, is recommended for a good lunch. It also feeds its patrons different types of dumplings.

14:30 Excursion to Stalin’s skyscrapers. Built in the Stalinist Empire style, the Stalin skyscrapers are locally named the 7 Stalin Sisters as they consist of 7 separate high-rise buildings. At the time they were built, these tall buildings towered over the rest of the modern city. The tour is not just to each of the 7 skyscrapers, but also to the two sites where more were planned but never got built.

16:00 End of the day’s program.

Day 5

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 Departure to Leninskiye Gorki by bus. Lenin spent the last days of his life at the Leninskiye Gorki estate. As a celebrated leader, a museum dedicated to Lenin was erected on this site in 1949. Leninsky Gorki can be found a few miles outside of Moscow.

11:30 Excursion “Founding of the Soviet state. V.I. Lenin is a politician and a man”. A professional guide will keep you entertained as you are guided through the Lenin Museum. The fascinating life of Lenin is illustrated in his biography and includes insight into the creation of the USSR.

13:00 Lunch ($20).

14:00 Free time in Leninskiye Gorki.

16:00 End of the day’s program. Return to the hotel.

Day 6

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 Excursion to Victory Park. The Russian victory in the Great Patriotic war is on show at one of the biggest complexes dedicated to this victory. Starting with a walk through the park, the visitor will then find their way to the museum which celebrates this victorious moment.

14:00 End of the day’s program. Return to the hotel.

Day 7

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. You can take off on any flight convenient for you. Our driver will take you to the airport. Check-out from the hotel is before 10:00

Day 5

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 Departure to Leninskiye Gorki by bus. Lenin spent the last days of his life at the Leninskiye Gorki estate. As a celebrated leader, a museum dedicated to Lenin was erected on this site in 1949. Leninsky Gorki can be found a few miles outside of Moscow.
