TOUR BUDDHISM KALMYKIA

Day 1

You can fly to Moscow via any convenient airline for you.  A driver with a sign will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel is possible only after 14:00. If you arrive in Moscow with an early flight, then an earlier check-in can be booked for you for an additional fee.

Day 2

9:00 Breakfast.

10:00 Sightseeing tour of Moscow. You will see the Red Square, Bolshoi Theater, GUM (main department store), St. Basil’s Cathedral, Metropol Hotel, Nikolskaya Street, Historical Museum, Kazan Cathedral, Lubyanka, KGB building, Zaryadye Park, and the Central Children’s Store.

13:00 Lunch.

14:00 Excursion to the Kremlin. The guide will tell you about the history of the Kremlin, and then you will have free time to explore the cathedrals on your own

17:00 Return to the hotel. Free time

Day 3

6:00 Breakfast at the hotel

7:00 Transfer to the airport.

10:25 Departure to Elista. The flight will take about two hours.

12:25 Arrival in Elista. A driver with a sign will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel.

14:15 Lunch

15:15 “Seven Days Pagoda”
The “Seven Days Pagoda” will be the first stop on the journey to Kalmykia. This is one of the most important Buddhist sites in Elista, and it is located right in the heart of the city. The pagoda’s name is linked to the seven Buddhas who visited our world. You will be given a tour of the pagoda.

17:00 Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni
The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni is the next stop on our journey, and it is the largest Buddhist temple in Kalmykia and one of the largest in Europe. The 63-meter-tall khurula structure houses Russia’s and Europe’s second-largest nine-meter-tall Buddha statue.

19:30 Dinner

21:00 Return to the hotel. Free time.

Day 4

8:00 Breakfast at the hotel.

9:00 Khurul complex Sheden Sheddup Choi Korling.
The Khurul complex Sheden Sheddup Choi Korling is one of Elista’s pearls. The complex has two floors, the first housing a 300-person hall and the second housing a library of Buddhist sacred texts.

13:30 Lunch

14:00 “ Khosheut Khurul “
Khosheut khurul is a Buddhist temple from the early 19th century. Khosheut khurul incorporated elements of Eastern Buddhist and Western European architecture. It is believed that khurul was modeled after St. Petersburg’s Kazan Cathedral.

15:30 Sacred statue of Maitreya Buddha
We will make a stop in the city of Lagan to visit the largest Maitreya Buddha statue in Europe.

Day 5

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel. Free day in Elista.

Day 6

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel.

10:30 Transfer to the airport

13:25 Departure to Moscow. The flight will take about two hours.

15:25 Arrival in Moscow. A driver with a sign will be waiting at the hotel

17:00 Check in at the hotel

Day 7

9:00 Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. You can take off on any flight convenient for you. Our driver will take you to the airport. Check-out from the hotel is before 10:00.
